This meeting of the Bureau of the Committee of Permanent Representatives is organized after the 2017 UN Environment Assembly Preparatory Retreat. In light of the 2017 Environment Assembly Retreat, the meeting will review outcomes, actions and recommendations of the 2017 UN Environment Assembly Preparatory Retreat. It will also consider and approve the compiled calendar of meetings and activities leading to the third session of the UN Environment Assembly. The meeting is expected to endorse important activities on the roadmap to the 2017 UN Environment Assembly.
The Committee of Permanent Representatives is led by a five-member bureau, elected for a period of two years. Each bureau member represents one of the five UN regional groups of Member States, the current chair of the Committee of Permanent Representatives is H.E. Ms Julia Pataki, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Romania to UN Environment. The Committee of Permanent Representatives meets at least four times every year.The outcomes of its meetings are available in the documents section of this portal.
