A global, shared responsibility calls for an increased investment in UNEP, in particular in the Environment Fund. Governments are the core of UNEP’s funding because UNEP is an intergovernmental organization owned by the 193 UN Member States. The environment has no borders – each and every country is a donor, and each and every country is a recipient.
While governments provide the main support for UNEP, contributions from the private sector and the global community are also encouraged. It is everyone’s role to take action to address environmental concerns; the price people are willing to invest likely reflects the benefits we all stand to gain in the long run.
Everyone can help make a difference and ensure the sustainability of the planet we live in. To make a contribution, please read our Guideline for Contributing to the UNEP Environment Fund (English | French | Spanish) or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
