  • “Impact of Air pollution on Childhood Pneumonia”
    Date and Location: Friday 11th November, Blue Zone, Climate Change Studio, 1pm-3pm.
    Organised by UNICEF, in partnership with UN Environment
    This event is UNICEF launch of 2 new flagship reports: “Clear the Air for Children” and “Within our Grasp: a new vision for ending preventable pneumonia and diarrhea deaths in children”.
    Moerator: Fatoumata Ndiaye (UNICEF Deputy Executive Director). Panelistsinclude   Jacquie McGlade, UN Environment and Helena Molin Valdes, Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC)

  • “Sand and Dust Storms”
    Date and Location: Tuesday 15th November, UNDP Pavilion, 11am-12am.
    Organized by UNDP, UN Environment, and the Islamic Republic of Iran
    Panelists include Helen Clark (UNDP Administrator), the vice-president of Iran, and Erik Soleim for UN Environment.

  • “Sustainable Food Systems for Biodiversity, Nutrition and Health”

    Organised by the International Union of Nutritional Sciences task force on Climate Change and Nutrition, the Food and Agriculture Organization, United Nations Standing Committee on Nutrition, the Convention of Biological Diversity Secretariat and UN Environment
    Panelists include Inger Andersen (Director General IUCN), Mary Robinson (Mary Robinson Foundation for Climate Justice), Helena Semedo (FAO Deputy Director General), David Cooper (Deputy Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity) and Ibrahim Thiaw (Depuy Executive Director, UN Environment).

  • “Ministerial Meeting on Health, Environment and Climate Change”
    Date and Location: Tuesday 15th November, Moroccan Pavillon, 2;30 to 4.30pm
    Organised by WHO, in partnership with UN Environment
    The meeting is cochaired by Dr Chan, Director General of WHO, and Erik Solheim for UN Environment, under the auspices of the Moroccan ministers of Environment and Health.
    Ministers of Environment and Ministers of Health will be invited to take the floor to identify ways and means for a potential future coalition on Health, Environment and Climate Change and to adopt the “Marrakech declaration on Health, Environment and Climate Change”.

  • “Climate and Health- SDG 3: Good health and wellbeing”
    Date and Location: Tuesday 15th November, 6.30pm – 8pm, Blue zone, Pacific room
    Organised by WHO, with contribution from UN Environment, Minister of Health Morocco, World Meteorological Organization, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, UN-Habitat, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, United Nations Children’s Fund.
    The meeting is chaired by M. Chan, Director General of WHO. Panelists include the Minister of Environment of Sweden, the Minister of Health of Tuvalu and Ibrahim Thiaw (Depuy Executive Director, UN Environment).
