Evaluation Principles

The guiding principles of evaluations at UN Environment emanate from decisions taken by the United Nations Environment Assembly (formerly the UNEP Governing Council), from the commitment of the UN Environment Executive Director and senior management to nurture an evaluation culture, from the United Nations Evaluation Group Norms and Standards for Evaluation, United Nations Evaluation Group Ethical Guidelines, the United Nations Evaluation Group Code of Conduct for Evaluation and the guiding principles of the Policy for Independent System Wide Evaluation in the UN. The Evaluation Office fully subscribes to the following core principles:
