Launch of the Snapshot Report on the World's Water Quality

UN Environment's World Water Quality Assessment: A Snapshot of the World’s Water Quality: Towards a Global Assessment report was launched during the World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden, on 30th August 2016.

The report draws on GEMS/Water data and highlights how several hundred million people, especially in developing countries, are at a risk of suffering from life-threatening diseases and damages to their livelihoods due to decreasing water quality in rivers and lakes.

The report was met with great interest by the media and was mentioned in newspaper articles across 80 countries.
