Hazardous Waste Management

Hazardous waste management needs to be treated in an environmentally sound manner because it may cause adverse effect to human health and the environment if it is treated in an environmentally unsound manner. Because we still use hazardous components in our life and generate hazardous waste, sound management of hazardous waste needs to be implemented globally.

As the first waste stream, IETC has been implementing the mercury waste project funded by Government of Japan to assist Parties, Signatories and other countries for early implementation and ratification of the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
