The eleventh meeting of the Global Mercury Partnership Advisory Group (PAG11) was held on 15 and 16 December 2020 in a virtual setting, under the leadership of  the PAG co-chairs, Rodges Ankrah (Environmental Protection Agency, U.S.), and Teeraporn Wiriwutikorn (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Thailand). The meeting also featured welcoming remarks by Monika G. MacDevette, Chief of the Chemicals and Health Branch, Economy Division of UNEP and Monika Stankiewicz, Executive Secretary of the Minamata Convention.

Amongst others, members of the PAG reviewed recent activities of the Partnership and its Partnership Areas. The meeting was an opportunity to exchange on future priorities, discuss progress and next steps for the work on mercury from non-ferrous mining and smelting and from oil and gas initiated in follow up to PAG-10 as well as preparations for the fourth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention (Bali, Indonesia, 1 to 5 November 2021)  and the 15th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (Cape Town, South Africa, 24 to 29 July 2022).

All partners were welcome to attend the meeting in an observer capacity.
